Today Airgunning Atlanta held it's November FT match at our Covington range. Six of us made it out to enjoy a great day of shooting that the weather gods gifted to us with temps starting in the 50s and rising to the high 60s and not a cloud in the sky.

There were several competitors in the hunter FT division vying for top honors. Eddie won the HFT with 46/56 using his BSA Super10 followed by David 36/56 using a AA S410. A long absent shooter from the past, Mark Wulfkotte is becoming a regular again and shot his newly acquired Daystate MK4 in the "outlaw" hunter class. He decided to modify the HFT format by dialing his scope and ended the match with a fine round scoring of 49/56.

Doug and Mary started the day out aiming for top score in the WFTF division. Mary encountered problems with her rifle around lane three and soldiered on for 4 - 5 more lanes before giving up on it and going over to the "dark side" by borrowing Ken's RN10 which moved her in to the PCP division. Doug shot a solid round with a score of 50/56 shooting his Ripley AR5s. Nice shooting Doug!

Mary was impressive today with her shooting and showed that she is a great competitor and a better than average shooter. When her rifle started going "wonky" and she was missing targets completely she did not get frustrated but instead started trying to figure out what needed to be done to deal with the problem. After several lanes of missing most of her shots and trying different things with little to no success she accepted my offer to shoot my RN10. From that point, 5 lanes left, she did not miss a shot! This gal can shoot! It was impressive to see her take a gun she has never shot, that was not set up for her and watch her mow down targets with great abandon. Ladies take notice, Mary is a force to be reckoned with! And all you guys watch out too...

I (Ken) got out my RN10 to play today and had a lot of fun out on the range. I took the honors in PCP division with a score of 54/56. I am not so sure I would have won my division if Mary had been shooting the RN10 all day, even with gun problems Mary still shot a respectable 37/56.

Another great day of fun shooting BB guns in the woods with friends and I am already looking forward to the next time. That will be the third Saturday of December, the 18th so mark your calendar now. Be safe until then and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
